Levi Coffin was featured as a character in "Underground To Canada", an award-winning novel for children about the Railroad by Canadian author Barbara Smucker. Reading this book was my introduction as a child to the evils of the American slave trade and its consequences, and helped greatly to shape my current interest in Black popular culture of all kinds.
