I think one of the problems with Jefferson and Madison is that they didn’t like getting their hands dirty. On the other hand, Hamilton wasn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty. He started a newspaper to try to talk to the average person, and during elections, he would stand on a soap box on a street corner and talk to people. Someone said that the strength of a republic is based on the education of its citizens. And I agree.

Good point. Jefferson and Madison literally "had people" to do things for them.
