Happy Independence Day!

I’m in my new workspace, which is a studio apartment in Saint Paul. I came down earlier this week with a carload of mostly books and a desk. Got a couple of bookcases and a bed at IKEA, and set up shop! I’ll be going back and forth to Bemidji each week, so I’ll be able to bring more of my stuff each trip. I’m glad of that, since I’m on the third floor and there’s no elevator.

Now that I’m pretty well moved in, I’m going to be getting to work on the courses I’m teaching in the fall. First, though, I think I’ll finish making the American Environmental History course, which I think is a bit unique and potentially interesting to online viewers. Then I’ll launch into the US and World History material I’ll be teaching at a couple of different Minnesota State institutions beginning in August.

Lot’s to do! Stay tuned for content.

MakingHistory
Making History is the top-level thing I do, as a historian, teacher, and writer. I create content, based on either original primary research or to present the findings of other historians to my students. This channel will cover several topics I am researching or teaching, and reflections on the ways that history helps us understand our current world.
