The first very short source is mapmaker Martin Waldseemüller’s justification for using the name “America” for the two “New World” continents in 1507.
The second, longer source is an account of Hernan Cortés’ tricking Mexica ruler Montezuma into becoming a prisoner of the Spaniards in Tenochtitlán, which led to the fall of the “Aztec” Empire.
