Day 85 of my little Journey; 192 days to go. No retrenchment news, which I'm glad of. I have to admit I find it a bit depressing and the info I shared in my "final" video yesterday sort-of ruined my day. I'd prefer to focus on the positive, unless there's something so newsworthy that I feel I have to share it. In that case, I'd probably return to video, too.
On the more positive side, this morning I've posted a review of Chapter 6 of Adler and Van Doren's How to Read a Book to Lifelong Learners. And I put together my two Substack posts on The Great Conversation and uploaded the whole essay to Medium. I have a class to teach at 11:00, so I'll probably go in to the Library and do some work. I am still digesting the introductory essay and the appendix to The Syntopicon, which describe the general idea and the technical details of the project. And I'm writing up some thoughts about the publicity this project got in 1948 in Life and other magazines. I may even take a closer look at the 1,800-or-so key ideas listed in the appendices as well. It might be interesting to see what keywords I'd want to add to the list, seventy years later, or even what this list would look like as an Obsidian web?
