Some notes I made for my Women in US History class, including a bit of background on the textile mills of New England. I also mention Dr. Charles Knowlton and Robert Dale Owen and their books on birth control, published in the early 1830s.
Owen’s experiments are so fascinating. I learned about the Harvey Girls after moving back to the Southwest. Might make an interesting comparison.
