Albert Memmi (1920-2020) was a Tunisian author of fiction and later of anti-colonial nonfiction. Studied philosophy at the Sorbonne, escaped from a Nazi labor camp, and in 1957 published The Colonizer and the Colonized, in which he discusses collaborators and rebels.
