Wow. Really excellent summary of the book, which I haven’t revisited in ages, and intriguing comparison with the work of historians. Are you familiar with CP Snow’s Two Cultures (and generations of subsequent fallout) re the differences (and similarities) between the sciences and humanities? Classic, perennial set of problems. Your take, as always, is eminently sensible. 😀
